I may end up regretting this... I need an untextured cruiser
Here's the deal. I've finished modelling the corellian gunship for the SW mod, and now I have to texture it. The only problem is I haven't textured anything in yonks, and I'm rusty, so I want to practice. So what I'm chasing is a cruiser or gunship sized ship that I can practice texturing on. I figure I might as well do something useful, after all. The only thing is, I really, really don't want something that anybody is dependingo on for their campaign as I can't make any kind of estimate about th quality (or arrival time) of the finished product.

So, if you've got something sitting on your HDD that you'd like to see textured and aren't desparate to have in game, grab it and send it on along. It'll be UV mapped and textured, so anything above a few hundred metres is getting dodgy, and since I'll be trying to emulate the style of the Corellian SW ships, shivan and vasudan ships are pretty much out. So, err, any takers?

Oh jeeze, my HD is like a shipyard of disused experimental hulls......:D

Hulls without serious superstructure or turrets.......I'll have a look around and see what I can dredge up. Unless you'd prefer Tempest's (naturally better) ship. :)

Re: I may end up regretting this... I need an untextured cruiser
How about my experimental light escort, "Istrano"? I just did some changes to the fighterbay in the nose and added nozzles to the experimental rotary engines. The bridge and two turrets are reworked parts from Doga. (It takes a lot of work to make some of those pieces useable.)

The main hull is something I started on a while ago and stalled out on. Then I got this idea for rotating engines... I made the engine module but couldn't think of anything to attach a couple to. After some thinking I pulled the "Istrano" hull out of the 'Eh, whatever.' mothball spacedock at Galan Aerospace and whipped up the connectors (the white parts) to mount them to this hull.

After obtaining the bridge and turrets from "Parts 'R' Us" (when there's a rush order, Galan Aerospace is not above buying from the competition) the engineers fitted some conventional engines to the aft end of the main hull and poked a fighter bay into the nose.

There's space above the bay for a couple of fixed beam cannons, if there ever is an order for this ship to be put into production. The central structure is plenty strong enough to add a turret mount on each side. (Now that SCP supports non-vertical turrets!)

I think that code was removed, but I'm not sure.
