ok, quick question that can only truly be answered be [v]. why do you start on the aquitaines wing in the first nebula mission instead of in the hangar bay?

FREDding reasons. They had no cutscene SEXPs to use. In Steadfast we have a nice Hecate launching spacecraft

Actually I think it's simply cause it looks cool.

No destroyer can launch so many wings in a short amount of time...I think that "take off" was actually intended as a "you can proceed". Rather than placing the 107th all around the Aquitaine, Volition decided to do something original.

There's no other way to effectively show fighter launches from a Hecate the way there is from an Orion. So [V] fudged it to give a similar effect. There's no deeper meaning to it than that.

Actually, the Aquitaine was originally an Orion, and the fighters did indeed originally launch from the hangar bay.  When the Aquitaine became a Hecate, they probably put the fighters on the wing because a Hectate's fighterbay doesn't have a runway.

I mean, it just looks way cooler. Besides, the Hecate only appears in four missions (the first neb. mission, the one with the oberon, the one where you have to rescue it, and bearbating)
