I'm going to say it.  Fr-*CHRRRZZZZZZZCHHCHCHCHC*-ee (frē - spās - θrē) will never happen unless decides to create it.  Which they won't.

What we can do, however, is make a totally new universe and game that pays homage to Freespace.  However, this would take a ****load of time, so it is likely that it won't happen.

But yeah, if that link to the petition thread isn't enough for you, Karajorma's FAQ has a great breakdown of all the reasons there will never be a non- -made FS3.

There are, however, post-capella campaigns that are great fun.  Derelect and Inferno are a couple really good ones.

I am not half as annoyed by people asking about Freespace 3, as I am by the people who respond with things like "Oh no, you shouldn't ask that question!" and "Tehe, he said Freespace 3". And then after that come the people who practically pat themselves on the back and hand out drinks to people for not getting pissed off at someone over nothing.

It's not that big of a deal. It's not funny anymore. In fact, it's even less funny than the new episodes of Family Guy.

Well, what annoys me is that nobody actually seems to be all that annoyed about people mentioning Freespace 3 anymore. But everybody expects people to get annoyed and feels the need to comment on it, which just spams the thread and makes it hard to follow any useful discussion.
