Those are legitimated reasons to start threads. There could be better reasons, but they are definitely acceptable. And VC, this thread is no worse than the bumper sticker thread.

He likes to 'pick the fruit when its ripe', so to speak. Waits for threads to turn into swearing flamewars, such as this one, where people like myself find them pointless, then someone digs up ANCIENT posts and throws them at my face, then i get p1ssed off, and round and round we go.

I don't see any good reason to close the thread other than people who don't like it whining that it should be closed. That always just gives me an attitude of wanting to leave the thread open just to spite them since I hate it when people whine about closing thread just cause they don't like them.

As far as I'm concerned any further whining will be split off and locked. If no one wants a Chuck Norris thread it will die off on its own. If they do, I've got no real objection. It's certainly no dumber than the bumper sticker thread.

I've been popping in and out of this thread for a while, yes, I think Chuck Norris facts are dumb, but that's no reason to lock the thread, though I was mostly watching to see if Cobra and VC would behave.

So, yes, a moderator has been aware of this thread for quite some time, but has seen no reason to lock it simply because other people thought it was silly.

Finally, VC, Goober is merely enforcing the Forum Rules, to be blunt, he does a better job than me, I'm too lenient, it's not actually that Goober is a 'mean' moderator, it's that I'm too easy going as one.
