guyz, i need your help......what im gonna say may sound a bit funny......its funny for me anyway......can someone get me FreeSpace 1 Battle Of Deneb / The Great war please?? i never play freespace 1 in my entire life........freespace 2 was introduced to me buy a computer technician..........when i 1st bought a computer he introduced me FS2 and he gave me the CD together with my computer, thats what the FS2 Colossus.........i found that fun and i got mad on it.......then i get to know that there was a game before FS2 which is freespace 1.......now i want to try that too........so kindly someone help me get the free freespace 1 the great war / battle of deneb............thx

Turey's installer downloads FS2 and FS1 as a mod for FS2, with improved graphics etc, etc.

Simply run the installer selecting what you'd like downloaded (in order to play mods you have to select at least FreeSpace open 3.6.9 Executables and FreeSpace2 Retail Core. If you have high-speed internet and a decent computer I'd suggest downloading everything but the 3.6.8 Zeta Advanced MediaVPs with 710 patches. If you have an advanced PC you can download the Advanced MediaVPs. To run FSport (or any other mod) open the file in your FS2 directory called launcher, and set it up how you'd like. Go to the "MOD" tab and select the "fsport" folder and click "run" in the bottom-left corner.

There you are: FSport, ready to order.

EDIT: And what is FreeSpace: Battle of Deneb? Is it some version of FS1 in another language/country?

haha lol.....yea kind of.....anyway the turey's open installer is no use for me.....i tried downloading it for so many times, all cannot open....... now im very........ & 
i think i can  never download FS2 Shivans full version.....

As for Turey's installer:  The problem you could be having is you might be using the Java installer, which requires a more up-to-date version of Java than you might have.  Have you tried the .exe installer?

The intro to FS2 was just a cutscene. You don't take part in the Battle of Deneb at all, and there IS no game called FS1 Battle of Deneb. The caption that said "Freespace 1: Great War: Battle of Deneb" is just telling you that the battle your seeing is the Battle of Deneb that took place in FS1. And no you don't take part in it at all.

Yep. That's the name that Freespace 1 used in Europe. In America they used the name Descent : Freespace to try to gain some of the Descent series' popularity.

what? that post wasn't directed to anyone. i simply meant FS1 was the first game in the series,yet it was subtitled. subtitles are usually used in sequals, making this an odd case since the sequal didn't have a subtitle. and i'm not going to continue less i get flammed to a crisp.

Technically you do.  You don't participate in the all-out battle portrayed in the cutscene, but those four missions in Deneb before Vasuda Prime gets blasted would constitute a Battle of Deneb.

Yea, I meant the battle portrayed in the cutty.

They subtitled Freespace in America as Descent: Freespace, so they could jump on some of Descent's popularity.
