How are the Shivans at all like the Borg?! The Borg assimilate other races and cultures while the Shivans simply destroy races who travel subspace.

Re: Elements FreeSpace used from Star Trek
I don't think all of your points are really valid.  Those are all real stars.  Also, I don't see how Ross 128 was like Wolf 359.  Ross 128 was a surprise attack while the Federation fleet was waiting for the Borg at Wolf 359.

Re: Elements FreeSpace used from Star Trek
I noticed quite a few similarities with Star Trek and FreeSpace, and also a little wiht Babylon 5

Deneb - System in FreeSpace - System in Star Trek (Where farpoint station was)
Alter - System in FreeSpace - System in Star Trek
Antaries - System in FreeSpace - System in Babylon 5

Sol doesn't count, that's mentioned in a lot of things.

The Shivans seemed a lot like the Borg, I should know, I am Locutus of Borg. The fight at Wolf 359 (Star Trek) seems a lot like the attack at Ross 128 (FreeSpace)

Deneb, Antares and Altair are used in a lot of other scifi as well, so they dont count too. And the Shivans are like everyone said, they just come to kill. So all in all, FS and Startrek dont have pretty much nothing in common IMHO.

The main thing is, there's no real mystery around the Borg's intentions or plans, whereas there's nothing but mystery around the Shivans' ;)

Ten minutes to post self-destruction?  Fanboys are so entertaining.

What the ****?

Reading this post just offends me. You make a topic, as if you have something interesting to say that's worth everybody's time to read and respond to, and then you arbitrarily decide (after people have, actually, spent time responding to your posts) that you didn't really feel like asking the question in the first place, and try to make everybody else's responses indecipherable by removing the original question.

You came up with a half-assed replacement post that's not even funny, because it just comes off as indecisive and insecure.

So really, have some confidence, and learn how to post in a non-antisocial manner. Just because somebody takes the time to answer your question doesn't mean that you look like an idiot for asking it.

Yes, it did make me feel good to point that out. Flame on. :)
