:wtf: If the mission doesn't crash out on you, then you're fine.

Spoolier:
Spoiler:
I'm very sure the "Spoo Ranch Shares Bought" is supposed to be there repeating constantly...  as in the virus is using everyone's creds to keep buying stocks... virus... stock scam... eh? EH?  That's why you run out of money to buy shares later on in the mission.  If you followed the show, you'd probably remember the mystique around 'Spoo,' later explained to be the most tasty foodstuff in the Babylon 5 universe made from a bug resembling a grub worm.  I decided to google it anyway, and found that SPOO is even an (informal) term day traders use for the S&P 500 stock index.  Now it makes even MORE sense!

Re: Have you played through Raider Wars in TBP Final without problems?
i want to say about Slipping the Noose i got same probleme mission crash after i kill the 2 PSi aurora just after this a new ship warp in the zone.

i have in some else mission from tech data mission simulator same problemes, game run perfectly and just when a ship warp in a zone there game crash only is some mission.

this can probably come from a wrong bouding box ship probleme, coverted with the wrong PCS2 vertion.

so far i remember me i have got this problemes with my new fury becose i have coverted it with a wrong PCS2 vertion so ship work only for some time but every time game is crashing.

is probably some ship puted in game but untested ship with wrong bounding box.

im not sure about it.

I can't play through without problems either... but my problem has more to do with engine wash than anything else... anytime I get in position to take engine wash (say because I just overflew a rapidly oncoming Centauri cruiser, or disabling the engines of a hacked EA ship and all of a sudden my HUD changes targets (stupid virus!) and causes me to go a lot faster than my target... really annoying.

Re: Have you played through Raider Wars in TBP Final without problems?
I've just strted to play this campaign yesterday evening. I got problem in the first mission. When you play at impossible level the raiders destroy the ship you must protect befor you get in fireing range even when you redirect all power to engines end hit afterburner. They dstroy this ship in their first attack. The destruction of raider schips and disarming of their station is no problem. When you set to lower level of gameplay this problem vanisches.

Re: Have you played through Raider Wars in TBP Final without problems?
Also got a problem with Slipping the Noose. Crashes with that winxp-type fatal error "freespace has encountered a problem and needs to close...".

Using the debug build I get two errors (short versions):

Warning: Couldn't open texture 'shockwave01'
referenced by model 'shockwave.pof

Warning: Ship  is not a support ship!
File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\Parse\SEXP.CPP'

Spoiler:
Basically occures when the EA corvette (Gibraltar) goes hostile. It's happened twice now, using fsopen369-inf.

I had one CTD but after going back in it has not had any further problems throughout the rest of the campaign.  Now looking forward to the civil war

Re: Have you played through Raider Wars in TBP Final without problems?
I've gotten the CTD in The Wheel Turns several times now, usually/always? right about when the Centauri turn hostile.

My first problem was when I had to scan the Akagi, and I kept looking through the quick ref cards and all the key bindings for something like "scan target". Then, as I was about to post it as a "problem" here, I finally thought to search the forums first, and came up with the answer PDQ.

And FYI about the "buying shares of a spoo ranch", more specifically, that's what Londo's computer told him it was doing when the technomage Elric cursed him for his rudeness.

And it's best prepared fresh, of course.

Re: Have you played through Raider Wars in TBP Final without problems?
Congrats on being the first person to spot the spoo ranch reference. The crash to desktops are annoying for me because I can find nothing wrong with the missions and in any event, there is absolutely no reason I can think of why the game should ever, ever crash to desktop. The retail build should ignore problems where possible. The debug build should report and error and either quit elegantly or continue regardless depending on severity. All I can hope is that a future build of FSOpen will fix these bugs.

Congrats on being the first person to spot the spoo ranch reference.

I got the reference straight away. I was just wondering if there was a messages about buying shares in Fireflies Inc. :D

Actually this one is on my list of bugs to look at. AFAIK it's not in Mantis though (which is the main reason I didn't remember to look at it last night).

Re: Have you played through Raider Wars in TBP Final without problems?
I had problems with the nightmare scenario.  It was the red alert bug and one of the ship types in the mission was wrong.  It was a BK Avioki and should have been a BI Avioki.  It worked fine after I got rid of the red alert and corrected the ship name
Normal people believe that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it isn't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.
The difference between Mechanical Engineers and Civil Engineers is:
Mechanical Engineers build weapons.  Civil Engineers build targets
An optimist sees the glass half full; the pessimist sees it half empty. An engineer sees that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
