Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
Military, so 1.5 billion dollars equivalent for an Orion.

50K/year (guesstimate), 150K/person, 10000 people. Not accurate, given inflation in the GTVA  :eek2:

Now, how much does a small moon cost?

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
i think it's an exageration meant to be funny. you guys are all taking this to seriously

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
It's certainly being taken too seriously, I think ;)

I suppose I always think that it only costs a few million to buy an island in the Bahamas, at that comes with free life-support and as much air as you can breathe. a moon doesn't, I suspect the price of a small moon isn't really all that much ;)

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
But its a moon! Its giant piece of dirt in space. Its gotta cost more then a few billions. If it was that cheap and I was Bill Gates, I would buy the Moon and charge any nation that lands on it for a couple million or even billion dollars.

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
Exactly.  Many moons have huge reserves of natural resources... The cost of a moon is proportional to how many resources it supplies. I'm pretty damn sure that a moon has a lot of resources.  For example, Ganymede and Europa have oceans and there is hydrogen and other minerals and gases on moons. Hydrogen is useful for energy, neh?

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
i thought the "price of a small moon" was a wild exxageration...
Fun while it lasted.

Then bitter.

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
I bet some moons probably have enough resources on them to construct multiple Ursa bombers. Besides, the Ursa Bomber is a flawed design. The trio of gunmounts on the right side is so horribly placed they might as well remove it to reduce weight. They could have at least added a second turret mounted on its button side.

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
a small moon would probably be like mars's moons, in other words very large asteroids with good location.

I know its dark and low quality.
Trust me. Those are Ursas. There are about 84 of them.

What everyone is forgetting is that Ursa was brand new at the time and probably came down in price. :)

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
The cost of a moon is actually proportional to the price of any resources minus the cost of getting them out ;)

What I want to know is who is the GTVA selling all their moons to inorder to fund this Ursa buying spree ?

Buy one and get any 2 asteroids absolutely free?

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
Wow, how many Ursas were shot down?

As far as I could tell, atleast 60. Most of the Sathanas' Flak cannons are at the front. Covering the front-4 beam cannons. Its extremely ineffective against Bombers/Fighters.

Edit: I mean, atleast 60 were still ALIVE.

Mentioned that in the other thread...didn't get split over.

That was when the Ursa was first created...I'm sure 32 years later the prices would be a bit lower.

Quote
Measuring a frightening 2.1 kilometers in length, the cost to build one of these far outweighs the cost of paying the crew of this ship for 3 years.

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
Yea, I doubt the crewman gets paid that much. I mean its a 2.1km Destroyer armed with the latest weapons and sensors, how can 3 years of salary to 10,000 crewman cost more then that?

Re: How much to rent the Deathstar?
It costs as much as a small moon. It doesn't mean that the GTVA went around raffling off moons to pay for it. TAXES.
Gettin' back to dodgin' lasers.
