no, I think prequel music is fine as long as it fits.  Though I'm leaning more to the stuff that uses the Imperial March and Force motifs then anything else.  It's possible to use tracks from Attack of the Clones, as they've got some good stuff going on there, particularly in the droid manufacturing plant scene with Anakin and Padme fighting off Geonosians.  Not sure if Duel of the Fates or Battle of Heroes would work in a space combat arena though, as much as I like those tracks.  The Trade Federation motif might be okay to apply to a lesser enemy such as the Corporate Sector Authority.

Well there are many different speculations going on about this law about not mixing fibers and at least one explanation claims that it was a symbolic gesture designed to keep a pure sense of culture, people, and religion.  Seperation of crop  in the vinyard, mentioned in Dt. 22:9 and 22:10 seem to reaffirm this idea, though there may be other reasons as well.

And now, an excerpt from the Prayer of Mordecai, the Book of Esther Chapter C (New American Bible Official Catholic version).

well it depends IMO...there is nothing wrong with prequel music if we see prequel ships onscreen.

Though as I'm sure you've seen, we've no intention of bringing many of the prequel era ships into the mod at this point, we're focusing on the galactic civil war (read: Original Trilogy) for now

I also don't like the prequel ship designs much, especially the eta2 design, but I don't doubt we will see prequel ships somewhere in the future

That is awesome.  I can totally imagine flying an X-wing and hearing that as background.

If you take requests, how about Grand Admiral Thrawn's theme from TIE Fighter.  That is made of God, Win, and Sugar. :)

Yeah, I think using variants of established themes when necessary will work, but we might also have opportunities to create new themes.  Possibly for new bad guys, or new situations that don't already have a fitting track for them in the SW universe.

I agree with this mostly, except with the duel of the fates theme. I think that composed like these tests, it could very well fit.

Well... i'm still new at this orchestra thing, but here's a little something i've been working on.

Affectionately titled too. :)

I'm far from finished of course, but there's some of what i'm doing. (note: there's a little bit of playing around with the drum beats and what not on the tail-end. Let me know what you all think.

It's nice.  I can think of a few uses for it.  It does however, feel a lot like something from a Square Enix title.  Maybe it's just the synthesizer effect.  I still like it though.

Deadeye, I will be honest with you. I don't like that piece so much. There are only a few moments where we can notice that it is supposed to be a SW track. Do not misunderstand, it's not a bad track in itself, it simply doesn't provide a Star Wars feel.

It needs more cowbell.

I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!

well its nice, but i don't like the synthesizer effect, for there is already John William's original soundtrack version of it.
The synthesizer already destroyed the feeling in the WCS for, and I ended up switching the music off. Maybe it's because I don't get that nostalgic feeling when I play remade stuff.

In my opinion we should only use that level of qualitiy that John Williams provided.

Although I totally dig the TIE Fighter soundtrack. I wish someone would let an orchestra play these grand tunes :).

Imperial March.mp3

I was playing TIE Fighter last night and I really liked its slightly different version of the Imperial March, and then I was thinking about this thread all day and having ideas, so I wrote this piece which is based closely on that song, but nearer in feel to Williams' original. You guys can use this if you want, in the mod.

I like it, my only real gripe is its shortness.  In most situations its looping would be often enough to seem repetitive.  I can think of a couple uses for it though.

i don't think that sample was intended to be inflight music, although a longer version would be nice.

Also, I'd like to see more nuances from the TIE fighter soundtrack.
