Just was playing Wing Commander Secret Ops.  The Midway definately has 6 launch tubes and the front is split a little.

Correct.... after a decade or two in service the midway class was brought in for overhaul.  Armour plating was removed, structural beams down the two "pant legs" were joined.  The hollow middle section was enclosed and the floors where extended over the area.  This allows additional storage area for fighters currently not on ready.
