The Aesacus was an EA cruiser in Inferno Release 1.

Dammit, I spilled my coke. Also, I really don't like it.

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. Re: hopping on the modeling bandwagon
No. Do not start texturing. Make it realistic. It shouldn't look like that. It should look like it's actually a ship, not a plastic toy. Where are the windows? Where are the docking points? Where's the bridge? Actually model on all the things you would need to have a functional spaceship. Right now it looks like a plastic playtoy in space.

Hmmm. Seems you've set yourself up as the resident expert.  :doubt:

I'd texture it. Make it into a small cruiser and learn how to unwrap. Too many people, me included, put lots of effort into modelling and overlook texturing and UV work which is probably more important.

That is, a good texture job can save a poor model but not vice-versa. I've wwarned you before about posting early WIPs though.

edit: did you change programes between the two shots ?

Re: hopping on the modeling bandwagon
nope, its all blender. just that one shot is in edit mode with normal viewing on, and the other is in object mode (which is the closest i can get too render without it showing only a small fraction of the ship)

I'm no expert. But I wouldn't use a ship like that in any campaign.

Re: hopping on the modeling bandwagon
why? its a smaller collosus with more turrets. after all, the first collosuss's big flaw was too much surface and too litle turrets., this is half the size, with twice the tuurrets, and its going to use b5-style multi-fire blobs.

No, my comment an attempt at telling Roanoke that I wasn't trying to be a prick.

Anything to make it look less like the Aesacus.

Two messages deleted, cut the spam and get back on topic, gentlemen (and any ladies I might not know about).

As for the model, akenbosch, I think Hecate fins would look good, two on the front and two larger ones on the back. Also, the foot on the bottom, it doesn't look good how it comes to a flat point, try doing something with that.

i hate it when people have been spoiled by all this "high poly" stuff...no appreciation for old-school modeling where the max is 1500 polys...

Re: hopping on the modeling bandwagon
I'm talking about the design, smartass. The whole thing is ugly.

Jeez. How dare you tell me I have no appreciation for modeling?

[EDIT[ That IS pretty vague. What I'm trying to say is that I appreciate the time and effort put in to their models.
