Yeah, well... they are part of the TCP/IP config in Windoze control panel.
If it's just DNS server issue, you could obviously try and load web pages using IP numbers only. If it works, then it's only a matter of fixing the DNS problem. If not, you need to fix other things as well.
I asked about Vista because it doesn't seem to be automagically able to get past the router on automatic settings. It finds the internal network all right, and the router answers fine, but as long as you don't actually put the information in manually, it won't detect wide area network at all past the router. Go figure.
