From a FREDing perspective, stations are always great as a plot device. Today I've cooked up some.

Rebel Shipyard- each drydock can hold a Home One size ship, according to the picture of it

Small Gun Emplacement- I modified it from its old cube form. The observant will notice that I've replaced the 2 dual turrets with 4 single ones. 2x2 = 4x1.

Large Gun Emplacement- This one is larger, and supposedly a ***** to attack.

I don't recall the first station. Is it from XWA?

No. I've never seen it either.

It's a moncal shipyard, I found a comic image of it but nothing from the games.

Looks good either way though!

Brandx got it. I was searching for some sort of drydock or shipyard and came across that. The imps still need one, though. If anyone can direct me to one I'd be very happy (or, I  could design one myself)

There's one in two in XWA. Can't remember the names though.

Hmm.  They produce the drive systems that power the SDs, SSDs, fighters, transports, etc, etc, right?  Or not?  I forget, I only briefly scanned the info on wiki & wookie pedia.

Ah, yes. Kuat Drive Yards. Almost impossible to sanely model. :p

KDY looks like a fun model to make, and I'll probably get around to it eventually.

In the meantime, a WIP telgorn shipyard! Currently at 2800 triangles, and basic shape almost completed. YAY!

Cool... you bring the old xwa shipyard back...
Btw: I like your small gun emplacemant. It looks really excellent - like a small golan and of course better than the old xwa ones... But there i see a serious problem: The guns can only fire in a very small arc radius... It`s only a suggestion but maybe you can change the positions of the antennas with the guns.

Keep up your really awesome work!!!

That's what I wanted to see. Nice work.

And nobbit? The SWC team are trying to be as accurate as possible.

I don't see any need to model KDY unless its for a very specific mission.  Remember it's a ring that goes around a planet, and we certainly don't have enough room in the engine to have you circling a planet to even need to model something that big.

but we could have a very long section of ring to battle near.

iirc, Razor's kiss is docked there before zsinj steals it, and the player could be taking the place of a certain Liutenant Kettch...

@Brandx: It depends. If we go with modeled planets, then we'll need a modeled KDY. On the other hand, if we're going for BG planets, we won't be able to model KDY. The engine, however, is fully capable of supporting it.

About the small gun emplacement: we're going for accuracy, but I didn't want to make the more "canon" box with turrets on it. (As I recall making one anyway for Kara's modding tutorial :P) I made what came to me, and it turned out like a mini-golan, but it still looks OK. As for the firing arcs, it has a full 360 field of vision, as the turrets will swivel a lot more then you may think. This will turn out to make it really difficult to attack it, but it'll be unshielded to compensate.

As for my WIP shipyard, the greeblie imprints are gonna be detail boxed, and also all of the six "pods" and the solar panels will be destructable for shooty goodness. Pics should come soon, then I'm going for the repair yard.

EDIT: Here are the pics. I still want to fix the flat faces on the pods.

Jeez it's been a ghost town around here. Scat ye ghosts!

It's 6100, which is good for the amount of detail that's been included all around it.
