This is a cutscene...a Intro if you would like... you'll need the Nareos installation, Wepwawet missile cruiser, my Majestic liner, and Galaxy carrier ships for it. Everything else is included in the rar (like background planets)

I spent 3 days hunting for music  and sound effects to get the optimum atmosphere for the campaign. I found a lot of great music (will share it with the community, just gimme some time to set it all up) but hte sound effects search was less sucesfull. So this probably isn't the final version of that cutscene

I'll post some screenies here from time to time...just to tease you guys

I can honsetly say that earth won't be destroyed...in part 1

But I gots me a crazy urge to re-do both the Orion and Orion Mk2 + some other ships...more details..more stuffs.
Right now the biggest urge is the Orion..it's like a friggin itch that I jsut got to scratch..I guess I won't be happy untill it overshadows the current HTL one

HC is down again  .. It's been really slow and buggy the last few weeks...this is delaying the whole mod and just when I finally got a good team together.

I may have to consider hosting FOW somehere else...Anyone got good suggestions?

Still not done, but getting there:

All turrets and the radars will be changed to use nicer models (you might notice I put 2 of the Big bob's turrets in front, and one small one on the side ATM for testing..)

I'm also optimizing it as I go - so far triangulated the hull is 3636 polys
I've also managed to reduce the texture count by 2

I agree but this is strickly FS2 Orion (look at the beam turrets)

I'm not done...and those beam turrets are gonna get remove...they waste 1 texture (beam4.pcx).. I'll use better beam turrets


b.t.w. - I realised I'm sorely missing space superiority fighters for FOW3...I was thinking of using Ezechiel and maby making another one...which one of these two CONCEPTS you like better:

you can map them too the same texture as the orion's hull, just map them too a black spot on it.


EDIT: are those meshes FL only, or are they going to get into FoW?

They WERE supposed to go in FL, but I quit....they're not going anywhere ATM touhg...untill I figure out what to do with them..

2 years ago FREDers were in short supply...now it's hte texture artists...

Low-quality textures? WTF you on about? I NEVER use low quality textures...and FYI it uses LESS textures than the current HTL Orion.
