1) You don't want to use FS1 + ST via the SCP or FS2 Retail FSPort?  If you do, I can give you a link to FSPort.

2) Do you know how to use Toorgle?  How about Bittorrent?  You might need help forwarding your ports if you use Bittorrent.

I'd rather the retail since the port failed to download, with toorgle i found a website that had it the trouble was resignations were closed haven't tried bit torrent yet but if anyone thinks of a website please tell thanks.

ok now i know this has nothing to do with the download subject but i don't think it's right to open a new thread for this: In FSO the Hercules hull is gone the only thing left to see and shot at is the cockpit need help on this please.

again i know this off subject but karajorma FREESPACE FAQ you said something about changing the name plates on the orion destroyers like the bastion i tried doing it but the link didn't explain it well and i have no idea how to do it . one last thing can you do this to other ships.

The method in the FAQ is more for retail than FSO. FSO introduced a texture replacement system which makes things much easier.

A note to the members of Something Awful Forums
Hello, my name is Turey, and I wrote the FreeSpace Open Installer. All of you at Something Awful seem to have taken quite an interest in both FreeSpace Open and my Installer. I'm always glad to see more people become interested in FreeSpace Open, but the addition of the SA traffic to the normal traffic has caused a problem for one of the file hosts that the Installer relies on. As such, the retail files and the Derelict mod campaign have been temporarily removed from the Installer.

I understand that this is inconvenient, but it has to be done. In the meantime, here's an alternative method of downloading. If you download the HotU Version, then run my Installer on top of it, it should result in an almost identical install to what you would have gotten with the retail files in my Installer. If you're looking for Derelict, you can get it from Hades-Combine.

Here we go i found a work retail verison most of the credit goes to jr2 and karajorma. jr2 gave me help and advice and karajorma gave me the download site in his thread (freespace 2 download links).

ok does anyone know if freespace 1 is compatible with XP because when i get to the launcher and click "play freespace" it doesn't start no error message nothing help please.
