Does FSOpen like Pentium E2160 @ 3.4GHz + Radeon HD 2600XT + Vista?
Well, does it? I'm starting a build soon...

XClio 188A ATX Mid-tower case (25CM fan)
Thermaltake Purepower 500W
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2160, overclocked to 3.4GHz or so (1.5V)
Scythe Infinity SCINF-1000 & Arctic Silver 5
Abit IP35-E motherboard
Transcend aXeRAM 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800 CL4 at 1.8V
Sapphire Radeon HD 2600XT 256MB GDDR3
Asus 18x DVD burner w/ Lightscribe, OEM
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA hard drive
Mitsumi 3.5" Floppy and Memory Card Reader
Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, OEM

I'll set to run on only a single core.

Oh, I'm not asking for any advice on building--I've pretty much made up my mind, had it concreted by a number of other knowledgeable people (other then myself), and I'm preparing to order some of it.

If it doesn't, try locking FS2 to the second core, as IIRC, most everything that doesn't support dual-core gets dumped on the first core... not sure about that, though.

I'm running it on full settings at 1024x768 on a T2300, 2GB, and GMA 950  :pimp: So, yes, you'll do just fine with that setup.  I do get lag when lots of things blow up all at once, and I don't know what my framerates are, but I can guarantee your 2600 will be able to handle it since GMA 950 was poor even in its day, and its day was a full generation ago.

I did have some random lagging issues (lagging hard even when nothing is going on), but that was fixed by setting the game to run on my second core.  We figured it's because GMA 950 was offloading processing to core 0, and the graphics and CPU parts of the game were fighting for the same resources.

Okay. I ordered the Scythe Infinity SCINF-1000 and a 500-watt Thermaltake Purepower PSU. +12V@29A is pretty good for $40 post-rebate.
