Not included with Turey's Installer, unfortunately.  I'm going to have to re-install FS2 Retail on my other partition and see what the difference between all versions are.

I posted them both, in their entirety up there, you could alwys just cut and paste into notepad and save the text files...

However, the differences are pretty obvious, you can't read it for people, they have to do it themselves.

Please note the "friends" clause is absent from this version. They realized their mistake, and they rescinded that authorization almost immediately.

but it is present in the budget re-release so maybe they wanted it back

Probably by that time they'd simply forgotten about the problem with it.

I realize it's been a while since the last post in this topic, but...

If the companies that owned the license to this are out of business, how come people are getting in legal trouble for it? Am I mistaken, or isn't the copyright holder the only one who may file charges against a violator of the copyright?

they're not out of business. Interplay has been scraping by for a while, and may be making a resurgence.

Yes, but even if they're not out of business, they have to be the ones to enforce the EULA, not someone else. (I know websites can kick people willy-nilly for violating copyright stuffs, but I'm thinking more about that guy whose dad got arrested for downloading FSO or something)

  • Thing, man like
If its been 8 years, or whatever, if they were going to do something about it they would have already.

On the other hand..
Really though, its not over till its over, I guess. We`ll just have to wait, and watch, when maybe one day they play it through and do nail someone for giving copies away. It won`t be a teenager, (no money to be made) but someone older, looks in  mirror.  :D  :nervous:

Almost 9, IIRC. FS2 was released in september 1999. But that regardless, you're right. I don't know how long this forum has been activly condoning the download of FS2, but AFAIK, :v: staff has come on here before and if they didn't say anything, they don't care enough to make such a big deal out of it, and if they didn't notice it, then they never will. And Interplay IMO deserves to have this game pirated after the crappy job they did at publishing this. Half-Life should have been the game getting eclipsed by Freespace 2, not the other way around.

Quite simply: No one cares. Stop your worrying.
