Help me with Sol:A History
I have the new nifty scp 3.6.9 with the launcher that makes everything complicated. I want to play Sol A History. I download the FSPort, the Inferno, and Sol. I put them all where they should be. First off, the FSport vp ****s with the Inferno mainhall. So I take out that VP. I'm left with all of the FS media VPs which should contain models and stuff. Maybe they don't, because when I start up the first mission, all the ships from the FS1 era are Inferno fighters.

Am I having overwriting issues or something?

Re: Help me with Sol:A History
IIRC, I followed Shadow0000's instruction from this thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,47832.0.html
I got it working on my 3.6.9 in its own mod folder using the Inferno R1 and mediavps in secondarylist in the mod.ini.

...Not sure if you meant you got R1 or INFA though... and I don't think FSPort should have anything to do with it.

R1. And I'd think FSPort would because Sol uses FS1 stuff. Maybe not. And Mod .ini?

  • If somebody made a campaign I've probably got it
Re: Help me with Sol:A History
The only FS1 ships that are used in SAH are the ones that are also in FS2.  The Ulysses, Hercules, Medusa, and Ursa.  The weapons used are all contained in the SAH VP or InfernoR1. So only the InfernoR1 and mediavps are required.
Normal people believe that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it isn't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.
The difference between Mechanical Engineers and Civil Engineers is:
Mechanical Engineers build weapons.  Civil Engineers build targets

Re: Help me with Sol:A History
Ok, that still begs the question of why I had Vesuvius fighters before I installed the port, still.

Re: Help me with Sol:A History
Vesuvius fighters are part of the InfernoR1 mod not the port.  Inferno should be in it's own folder inside the FreeSpace2 folder labeled as INFR1 or whatever you used in the mod.ini file.  Sol a History should be in it's own folder with the mod.ini file.  It sounds like you have Sol a history and Inferno in the same folder.  If that is the case the program uses the Inferno tables instead of the Sol a history tables bacuase it looks for file in alphabetical order and uses the first one it finds.  That's why you are getting the Vesuvius in the first mission.

Attached is a mod.ini for the campaign unzip it and put it in a folder named Sol_A_History along with your Sol a History files.  Make sure your Inferno files are in a folder named InfernoR1 and your media VPs are in a folder named mediavps.  Go to the launcher and select Sol a history for the mod and you should be set to go.

Re: Help me with Sol:A History
Here is a link to a copy of the folder you need for Sol a History.  Just extract the files to Your FreeSpace 2 directory and replace what you have now.

http://files.filefront.com/Sol+A+Historyzip/;8679092;/fileinfo.html

also do you have the SCP patch for Inferno?  You'll need to put that in the InfernoR1 file.

You can get that from the inferno website

http://inferno.hard-light.net/

Also there was a recent update to Inferno.  The file was INF_1Patch.  Sol A history will not work with that patch.

Can't get the patch, I'm not a filefront subscriber.
