Help Identify This Song...
It's stuck in my brain and I can't seem to find what the song is called or who it's by. The phrases I've been searching for are:

- "Been there before"
- "walk out the door"
- "talk to me"
- "everything I want" / "everything I need"

Does this help anyone, or do I need to make a MIDI of the thing?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Re: Help Identify This Song...
Everything I want...everything I need...that sounds familiar.  I think its from a single...one hit wonder....came out about 2000.  Can't remember the title or the band name.

Re: Help Identify This Song...
Does part of it have "makes me feel for real" ?

after "everything I want, everything I need" then some part "........" "makes me feel for real"

It sounds familiar, but distant.

EDIT: btw, male or female?

Re: Help Identify This Song...
Sounds like Def Leppard lyrics.... Could be absolutely anyone though to be honest, A midi might help some more :)

Re: Help Identify This Song...
I googled the lyrics but nothing really helpful came up.  I know there was a website where you could tap out the melody of a song on your spacebar and it would figure out what song you were tapping out. It was pretty accurate actually. I just wish I remembered what the site was.

Re: Help Identify This Song...
Hi,

downloaded it. From what I hear ... THAT is a song I would rather not like to know!
It doesn't ring any bell, even a small one, here.

Could you play it again with a little bit more rhythm and melody?

Do you have any idea when that song was published? Was it a solo artist or a band? What genre is it? Metal, Pop, Blues, Rock?
That might help the hunt.

Sorry, for the nag and the nonconstructive reply.

Best Regards
Mic

Re: Help Identify This Song...
Sounds like a song I have heard. I think that those lyrics were "You make me feel so real". I think it may have been Evanescence.

Re: Help Identify This Song...
"everything you want, everything you need" is from a Vertical Horizon song called "everything you want" interestingly enough.

Might not be what you're looking for though, based on the other lyrics you posted. Here's one of the choruses from the song I'm thinking of though:

I am everything you want
I am everything you need
I am everything inside of you
That you wish you could be
I say all the right things
At exactly the right time
But I mean nothing to you and I don't know why

I am a revolutionary.

Re: Help Identify This Song...
It's not Evanescence (as far as I know, at least - it's not their style), and it's not Vertical Horizon's song, either (listened to that on Amazon).

If it is a girl's voice it might be Justin Timberlake. I think it was by one of those girly-guys.

FOR the record..... *ahem* ;)

"Everything for Free", by K's Choice

And I'm attaching the sample wav file I had posted earlier in this thread... yeah, it sounds acoustically awful, but the tune is definitely there... *haughty look of audio-newb pride* :D
