Based on the Privateer 2 Heretic.  I used BoH_Havoc's heretic model over at CIC as a basis, although I ended up recreating everything.

Either that or light fighter/patrol fighter, could be very fast. I still need to greeble the heck out of it yet.

If it's using a modified version of the diffuse map, then yes I already am. Any of my models that start with Finished-* have bump and normal mapping.  However, as my video card doesn't seem to handle normal maps, I have no way to tell if their working good or not.

The ship comes along nicely. Only thing I might do is makeing the entire fighter bigger so that there is more room for all the systems. Currently its so thin that I don't know where all the stuff should be...like reactor, engine and so forth.
Other thing could be that you give it some room at the buttom.

Anyway it comes along very nicely.

Look closer. The cockpit is mostly glass; the pilot is sitting higher than you think. His head is sitting higher than the nacelles...

Actually his head was just as the nacelles height, i've lowered everything but the cockpit section to around his chin height.

Still counts as him sitting higher than the nacelles. Besides, realistically, if he needed to, he could roll the ship just a little to either side to see better...

Barely higher. Besides, realistically, rolling his ship to see would be a waste of energy. I can see perfectly well that the cockpit is glass. I do have 20/20 vision, and yes I looked at it closely. Did you?

Anyway, I stand by my post that visibility should be improved, probably by raising the cockpit further. Looking at it the reasons should be obvious (like I calculate upper dome visibility to be only 181 degrees from one side to the other, most modern fighter craft are 220.)

It's your model Scooby, you should do what you want.  I just thought it would look better in the design dept with visibility improvements. Some people around just feel the need to bat-comment any suggestion I make. You should see my pm-box. It's why I go such long periods of not posting.
