I downloaded that installer that puts all the mods into freespace 2 including FS 1 and silent threat.

   When I played the game a little bit I noticed that some of the fighters look like totally new models with nice cockpits and better textures and some are pretty much the same...looking over the forums a bit revealed a few fighters out there that were upgraded but are not included in the installer (like the apollo and the valkyrie) but I did not see any download links and have no idea how to install them if I could find them.
 
   could someone help me find all the terran fighters that have been redone that are not included in the installer...and possibly a little bit about how to install them?

  I know it seems like I am asking and I guess it is...but I have never been good at going through pages and pages of posts to find a download link...I figure that since you folks have been around awhile than perhaps you have a post that compiles this information that I have not seen.

  From what I have seen so far I can only say thank you to all who make this game so much better with new ships and fun missions.

First of all, you can find the HTL Apollo from the Useful stuff for FSO link in my sig. It's a 7-zipped vp so you just have to extract it to your \mediavps folder (and also \fsport if you want it to be used in FSPort). As for other shiny Terran fighters not included in the mediavps, there's also an HTL Athena and an HTL Loki. I'll try to find them and upload them to my 'site', with instructions, when I have the time. I'll get back to you on that.

Edit: Ok, I just finished uploading the HTL Loki and the HTL Athena to my 'site'. I've organized the files in the archives into separate folder in \data. Just extract them to \mediavps\data\ and \fsport\data\ accordingly. Once you've extracted the Athena, change the name of Athena.pof in \fsport\data\models to bomber01.pof.

   I saw some pictures of the loki that you uploaded somewhere before and it looked great...can't wait to try them out!

where do i get this cool yellow/orange explosion shockwaves? i have white/blue ones (not that they don't look good, but i'd prefer the others)

I believe that those are the older versions. You can find them in INF:A (Inferno Alliance). Extract all of the necessary files from the INFA .VP file (I don't know which ones). They should be in the maps subdirectory in the VP. Someone from the INFA team (Snail, Mobius, I'm looking at you) could easily help you.



And since this is semi-Inferno related I will unleash the USilv!

Technically speaking, the USilv would be about ten times that large. What you've got there is a basic EA destroyer-sized beam.

INFA ships use INFA textures, which are ebsentially renamed textures. Woo suggests to open the POF with ModelView and change the names of the textures. This work takes time, however.

About the Welcome Beam...I use the Silver one because...it's EA! It's not meant to be the USilv, no one can stand a chance against it.
