I still cannot shake off the feeling that the orange box is what we Germans call "Abzocke".
I won't pay that much money for games I already HAVE! I would have bought the Black Box, but (SURPRISE!) Valve cancled it to make even more money. And I thought Mircosoft was terrible...

Well, you CAN just buy Portal, TF2, and Episode 2 seperately, but that all comes out to about $80.  Plus, you can give your extra copies of HL2 and Episode 1 to friends/family as Christmas gifts.  It's not all as bad as I think you think it is.

I think they're just trying to 'encourage' you to buy it on Steam. They make more money that way too y'know ;)

Ahh, but Portal is awesome; For me the best game in the pack!

I actually went out and bought it! (And they think piracy COSTS them sales...)

So now I have a licence to play my Pirate (Arr!) Steam-free version of Portal! \o/
And the box is still in shrinkwrap so I can sell it easier later :D

I wish I'd played EP2 before playing Portal 'tho... EP2 SUCKS if you play it right after playing Portal :(

It's the song. It just won't get out of your mind!

I kept humming it through the course of the game "This was a triumph! D, Bm, D, Bm..."

Is it just me, or were the makers of Ep2 and Portal feeling just a little bit... psychotic?

Well, I decided hell with it, and actually bought portal.  Cool game...but wow, is it short.  Took me about 3 1/2 hours to beat the story mode.

Still, it's a puzzle game, and a damn fun one, so chances are there will be homemade puzzles.

I'm convinced someone on the dev team for Portal was a /b/tard.

I mean really?  Delicious Cake?

Just spent the weekend playing episode 2. Good stuff; certainly wasn't a let down in terms of the previous installments and has definately left me waiting for the final episode. It was fairly easy though, even on hard. And the end was a bit of a downer. Now I just have to give the commentry a run through.

Looking forward to portal too from what I hear bout it.
Watch out for the Guns! They'll getcha!

Actually, they wrote for Old Man Murray.

A series of localized forum in-jokes
A clever and self-referential comment on the nature of signatures themselves.

Did the delicious cake thing come from Portal, or did 4chan start it?

4chan started it long before Portal was out.

I use a lance made of Dragonforce to pierce the box and gain access to the delicious cake therein.
