Problems 'Slipping the Noose'
I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with this mission - it crashes every time, so I can't finish the mission.  I think it crashes when the GOD sat fires, but sometimes it seems to crash before that.  I've tried various detail levels (I play every other mission at 'very high' without any problems) and it still crashes at the lowest level.

If no one knows how to avoid the crash, is there a way to skip a mission so that I can play the rest of the campaign?

Great game other than this one very annoying bug... and the 'spoo ranch shares' message in this mission...

Thanks

I never gave the GOD sat a chance to fire.  Took out it's beam first.
No-one ever listens to Zathras. Quite mad, they say. It is good that Zathras does not mind. He's even grown to like it. Oh yes. -Zathras

Re: Problems 'Slipping the Noose'
The bug isn't the GOD sat itself. It's the maintbots. The bug is fixed in the newer version which with luck should be getting put together as we speak. There is a small patch floating about somewhere IIRC.

The patch is evil. Wait for the release of 3.4a which might be as early as this week.
Be warned: This site's admins stole 100s of hours of my work. They will do it to you.

Re: Problems 'Slipping the Noose'
Thanks everybody,

It seemed like, even when the GOD sat didn't fire, the bug could still happen, but once (don't know what I did) everything worked.  I won't second guess a good thing!  Thank god, because if I had to listen to that 'spoo ranch shares' message one more time...  :)

Was it the maintbots being destroyed in the crossfire that actually caused the crash?

Thanks again.

Re: Problems 'Slipping the Noose'
The crash is caused by the mainbots trying to strafe the enemy ships with weapons they don't have.
