I've create a custom mission following the instruction in the FRED documentation and when I ran WC Saga the mission didn't appear in the mission simulator.  Could someone please tell me what I need to do in order to get mission to work I'd really appreciate it.

Might sound a bit stupid but two points come to my mind. FRED dosn't neccessarly save your mission into the right folder by default. So check if your mission is in the mission folder. Next thing is that in the sim there is in the corner, I think it was the lower left one, a button "campaign mission" and "single missions". Select the "single missions" tab. Than it should be shown in the sim.
