How do I get fighters to take off from a carrier without them crashing?
I'm sorry but I've got another noob question about making missions for WC Saga.  I've created a mission where four fighters take off from a carrier.  When I start the mission the three CPU controlled fighters crash in to the ceiling and then the floor of the hanger deck over and over again.  I know I need to use waypoints and the event editor but I can't figure out how to set this up.  Could someone please help me?

IIRC there is a trick with the carrier facing exactly the first waypoint or so.....

EDIT: Though I'm not sure, I created my first mission yesterday, so I'm a n00b as well.  (It contains two ships and no waypoints  ;) )

give them an order to play dead, then create a sexp that

a) clears fighter's/wing's goal (whichever you prefer)
b) ads a goal to fly to a waypoint, which is outside the carrier

I thought, that the autopilot template released a while ago, showed how to do this ;)

No errors, no random CTDs, just pure fun and proof of why getting hit with missiles is a bad thing.

I should have realized that the answer I was seeking was in the autopilot template.  Anyway thanks Tolwyn I'll download it when the site is up and running again.

You might still run into the crashing problem, because I had that too. If it still happens be sure to make a greater distance between the parked fighters, and leave enough room between them when they launch. The crashes result from the AI, trying to evade friendly ships which are too close. If you give them more room, it'll work

there is a workaround for that too :)

every-time
distance check or, perhaps, a variable
set-object-facing-object
   Alpha 1/3/4
   waypoint launch
