Everytime try to run "Launcher.exe" (That is the Fs0 launcher right?) It gives me the error that MSVCP60.dll cannot be found. Am I doing something wrong?

What version of the launcher and FS2_Open are you running and how did you install them?  Also what are your system specs (especially graphics and sound cards)?

A fur cap solution is to google for it, find out where it should be and download it to that location. The 'right' solution would be to make sure all the drivers are up to date and that you haven't been messing around with your OS too much.

Edit: And yeah, you've been doing the right thing. Launcher.exe is indeed the FSO launcher. The files FS2.exe and freespace2.exe are a no-no, since they are from the retail FS2.

I used tureys downloader but I dunno the build... specs are 400 mhz 98 ram, I don't know the Graphi9c and video card... I got directx 8...

P.S I just downloaded the file but now it says it has generated errors....

It could be that the graphics card can't handle the graphics, I was concerned about that

The 400Mhz setup is fine, SCP shouldn't struggle with that, but I have an odd suspicion you have an onboard card. That said I don't think that should make the launcher generate errors.

Does anyone know if the launcher writes to errorlog when it does that? I can't remember off the top of my head.

Edit2: Maybe its because I installed it under "program Files/Games" I am reinstalling it to C/Games Maybe that will help

Maybe, maybe not. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I'd suggest making sure that there aren't any spaces in the directory path. Meaning, C:\Program Files\freespace might be bad but C:\Games\freespace sure isn't. And don't go installing it to your desktop or to My Documents. That is sure to cause problems.

I never install to My docs or desktop .... I named it Freespace 2 >.> Might have to rename it just to freespace after >.< Or is it fine as it is?

No spaces. Anywhere in the directory path. Not a single one. Freespace and freespace2 are ok but freespace 2 isn't.

Renamed to Freespace 2 but the damn Launcher.exe keeps giving me a damn error... Also I am having trouble with the stupid 1.2 patch it keeps saying that the old file is not found >.<

Crap man I just deleted all my game information for nothing >.<

Um, how did you actually install FSO? What error is the Launcher giving? And do you mean that you're installing the 1.2 patch? Stop that. If you got FSO with any decent method, the retail FS2 has already been updated to 1.2.

I got it via tureys installer... It may of been patched already so ooops... and the launcher.exe simply says "Launcher.exe has generated problems blah blah blah an error log has been created" This would be easier if it ACTUALLY made a damn log >.>

Well, that is a very informative description of the problem.

I am glad to see you have included the settings from your launcher.ini and that you have told us if you are loading any mods and if so, how you have them and the SCP installed.

I am also very glad that you included general information about your system specifications. Most people forget that part and it makes it really difficult to provide assistance.

I don't have any mods (Fresh install)
 I got the SCP manually from different sources, The mediaVP's and the 3.6.9 build...
System specs are 400 mhz, 98 MB ram ,dunno graphic or sound card though.

Is there any .ini file with the word "launcher" in it in the main FreeSpace2 dir?

And with those hardware specs, what OS are you running? In either case, I'm pretty sure the problem is that the machine is not cut out to run SCP.

Turey's installs v1.2 of Retail.  Hmm.  You have Windows what?  '98?  '98 Second Edition?  XP?  2000?  If you have '98 or even maybe 2000, you might need the MS Visual C+ 6.0 files.
