Make sure that you've got the newest drivers installed too.  That crash in the the OpenGL ICD dll is pretty typical of some older Intel drivers.

Drivers? Is there any site where I can get/check them?

Make sure that you've got the newest drivers installed too.  That crash in the the OpenGL ICD dll is pretty typical of some older Intel drivers.

Drivers? Is there any site where I can get/check them?
Assuming that you have Windows 2000 or XP, this is the current driver release.

Are there supposed to be three 710 patch files?  IIRC, there were some outdated ones that were for MVP 3.6.7 or something.  Anyone else know for sure?  I'm not at home ATM.

What is the reso and color depth of your desktop. At least 1024 x 768 x 32 i hope?

Err...(checks)
1024 by 768 pixels, originally 16 bit at the time I ran FS2_Open, but I've just changed it to 32 bit.

The following procedures have been taken:

Change to 32 bit color mode (success)
Update graphics drivers (success)

Uhh, I've got 248MB physical memory (RAM). Do tell me if running FS2_Open on 16 bit color uses less memory than 32 bit color. No problems with the processor (because it's a 2.66GHz Celeron D) or hard drive (because I still have 37.7GB free space).
Under normal conditions, my commit charge is about 400000K over a default maximum of 619104K. This maximum amount is automatically decreased or increased as the system requires.

It works! Frame rate was compromised if I went too close to capital ships, but IT WORKED!  :eek:

I'm going to play JAD2 and JAD3 and see if it holds. Thanks for all your help!

FS2_Open works fine on JAD2 and JAD3, albeit with some slowdown. Now testing INFA.
