Hi there:

simply a question really (to my opinion not crucial) but has anybody thought of an I-war FS2 total conversion? I always woundered what it would sound like to pilot a fighter in I-war defiance and to battle dreadnaught class corvettes.

Appearantly, I-war 2: edge of chaos is MUCH closer to fighter piloting then I-war (1) so I guess the MOD would rather concern the 1st I war era.

Has anybody thought of that?

besides, I went to inspect the starshatter community and I was greatly surprised at the fact that they make a grand number of total conversions (although things like custom mission campaigns and storyline are sometimes missing, but once others learn to MOD starshatter, I'm pretty sure this will change). TC's include a battlestar galactica old series (not sure freespace has a still living TOS BSG mod), robotech, battletech classic (actually aerotech/battlespace mix): this one's for you, lars. This one in particular is from a very old FASA universe, I find it good to have a MOD on this (it's very close to the renegade legion). Other mods not featured by FS2 include the cartel MOD and the zodiac wars, looking very good. Also, they would be interested in a renegade legion MOD, like some of the community here.

I think that the 2 communities together are actually creating a MOD for just about every space sci fi universe ever existing. And I truly think this is a good sign.

P.S: starshatter loves freespace: take a look at their forums: they have a total conversion called freespace online.

I enjoyed I-War and I-War 2,  I think I will try to dig them out and see if it will work with XP.   I remember sitting at a warp in point watching 2 mega-freighter crashing into each other thinking how much I would make from the left over cargo only to find out it was mostly sewerage or something like that.

There once was an I-War TC... many moons ago.

The original I-War (I have the Deluxe edition ) is compatible with Windows XP, and so is #2. I-War seems to want to crash after every mission though.

Don't worry for that: I've got defiance special and I war 2, But I was woundering what it would be to fly a fighter against a dreadnaught corvette  , Oh well: in I-war you can sometimes telepilot fighters (I love that), but this makes me whishing for more somehow...

Oh well, perhaps one day once several projects will have been released, someone will look up in this.

Anyone checked the superb starshatter catalog of MODS? I find it to be quite complementary to the freespace catalog.
