Will it be converted?

Oh, and BTW, name it something else other than "Claymore." There are 8 fighters in the community already called that.

All my stuff is produced with DOGA as I simply can't be fussed messing with things to get Rhino working right.
If anything you guys use for conversion can handle .L3P files then the models can be provided with no limitatation or restriction.
I just have an over-stimulated imagination and not a lot to keep me busy

Names are pretty irrelvant when it comes down to it.
I pick something that seems to *fit* and if it clashes with something earlier then it can be changed - its not as if it will turn to dust if you call it something else...

That being said.

Ahhhhh, I thought I recognized DOGA's texturing limitations. It's not a bad little program, really.

Sorry, but that fighter looks 0% Vasudan.

i'm sure the yellow color accounts for at least 1%

It reminds me the Anubis(which means that the model is 5%+ Vasudan). The gun isn't that Vasudan as well as the cockpit. Reskinning the cockpit and changing the design of that cannon should be enough to make it more Vasudan.

It's PVF Seth, anyway :)

But the texture's all square and Terran. Not Vasudan!

Uhh no this fighter looks nothing like the Seth. :wtf:

Okay, it's 7.235% Vasudan, but that's not Vasudan enough to make it Vasudan. Stick with Terran, there's no way a Vasudan could fit in that cockpit unless you make it much wider.

0%?
Thats pretty..... Rubbish really.
I suppose it's the Firing Squad* for me eh?

*I suppose I'm somewhat fortunate that a few GTF Myrms with medicre loadouts aren't too hard to splash...

Anyways, 2nd attempt at capturing the fat-hipped fish-head look:

And an Aeolus... You wouldn't have survived without the 99th Skullz.

The textures need work IMO.

Other than that, it looks like some kind of next-gen Amun. Me like. :yes2::cool::yes:

DOGA's not known for its texturing options, or modeling really. There are a lot of things you just simply can't do with it.

The parts that come with Doga fall into two brad categories.

1. Fairly decent with all parts solid models and no bad geometry.

2. Absolute horrors full of one sided polygons hanging out in the wind, backwards normals, intersecting geometry, internal faces, disconnected verts and edges occupying the same space and about everything possible to be wrong with a mesh.

Seems to me there were two types of people who made those models. One that made models that would work well with Doga and anything they might be exported to and one who should've been beaten away from the computer with a #10 Nerf Cluebat.

If you really, really like using Doga, the free version of Metasequoia can import and export the .suf format. It can also export to .cob. It's the only thing I know of that can directly convert .suf to .cob. Likewise, it can export to .suf anything it can import.

if you're interested, I've fixed up and in some cases enhanced a few of the pieces from Doga L1. PM me and I'll send you what I've done. They'll be in .cob format. Some are almost identical to the original and some I had to rebuild 100% from scratch because the original geometry was 100% FUBAR.

Anyone got that link to the free trueSpace 3.2 download and the serial number? I'm surprised Caligari is still giving that away. If they really wanted to suck people in... er... entice people to buy a newer version, they should give away the final 4.xx release. That's when it started to get the really useful features like adding faces to plug holes, adding new edges and verts anywhere you want, and the ability to do most of the things it can on non-solid meshes, except for booleans. (IIRC, the only things tS 3.2 can do with non-solids is moving/deleting verts and edges. I don't think it can even extrude a face on them.)

Yes.

What is the best free modelling program? I know there are probably different opinions, but I'd like to hear them.
