Because it seems like a pivoting beam cannon would be quite a force to contend with. Especially on a Sath. . . Yucky. Image being able to be pwned by four BFreds no matter where you are.

20K? That's quite impressive. I've been trying to get the highest clocked speed ever on FS and have been trying to use collisions with the Sath, but I think I may reconsider my strategy.

Set your ship's mass extremely low and the ship that's hitting you extremely high in the Ships.tbl to get the highest you can.

If you're going to table edit, you might as well just set the ship speed to 3000. I've gotten well over 2500 m/s in a 270 m/s Pegasus and liberal amounts of dampening.

If your unhappy with it, change it to a "Like, Really Big Green" or is it "Long Range Big Green" or "Long Range Beam Green" or what is it called? the LRBGreen.

There was a "feature" in The Babylon Project that you could get extremelly high speeds by bouncing off a stations wall repeatedly until the colision detection could keep up anymore.

in the version of Their Finest Hour i'm working on spiffying up i gave the Big C an LRBGreen in that spot

i had to turret lock it until after the ravana dies....

Big C + LRBGreen = 1 shot kill on a Ravana
