How is it possible to remove buttons from the menus? Like if I try to remove the clone pilot button or something, I go to the mask, get rid of the big white space and when I try to access the menu Freespace crashes and I get an error message telling me it has encountered an unexpected problem and it needs to shut down? My question is how do you remove links on the menu? Even moving them doesn't seem to work.

Because some of the features in freespace don't appeal to me/make my life difficult and I want to just get rid of them from the menu so it's like they don't exist. Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE there is NO WAY?

It's possible to modify the GUI, but it's a complex job, certainly seems to me that it would be a lot more work than simply not pressing the buttons
