At home 4.7 didn't have any real problems with vB, except during certain periods, and during those weird periods half the bloody sites on the net crashed NS, vB or no. And I had problems with UBB and NS as well - not loading long threads properly, stuff like that. So from that perspective I figured vB wasn't going to make things any worse.
I never used NS6 enough, so I don't have much of an opinion on it.
I'm stuck with NS6. Since my job involves webhosting, I need that stylesheet support. NS4 doesn't handle style sheets properly and its just about the only other browser that will work on my unix machines. I don't run Konqueror or its ilk, because I don't (and won't) install the extraneous crap that they require. Opera completely fails to run.
My problems with NS6 and vBulletin can be found in three places. Editting a post, replying to a post, and submitting a post. During any of these three acts, the form (the one into which I am typing right now) never finishes loading. I suspect an unclosed tag somewhere. During initial submits, this isn't a real problem, just an annoyance. During replies and edits, it becomes a serious problem becuase it never actually submits the data. The only solution is killing the mozilla processes and trying in a new process instance. I have this problem with all bulletin boards running vBulletin and NS6, even on my win2k and win9x machines at home, so I don't think it is unique to just me. I don't have any other problems with NS6 outside of its dubious interactions with vBulletin. That's not likely something you guys can fix, I think.
The other things I mentioned, however, should be easy to do with a little bit of jiggerypokery in the code. They'll take time to sort out, but I expect all the important ones will get done with time.
