Orion Main Beam Problem
Okay, I have an Orion a few km from the main battlefield, so I gave the main turret a LRBGreen.  For some reason the turret spins around backwards instead of firing.  I really don't want to script every time the beam fires, so please help me.  If it helps, the mission starts with the beam locked, then it (of course) is freed for firing.

Is it within 4 km of the ship its supposed to fire at?

The spinning around backward part could be attributed to targeting a ship that's behind it.

Also make sure the other ship is in the cone of fire of the turret.  Turn on show model paths in the view options for a  firing path.  Some turrets don't fire where you think they will.
No-one ever listens to Zathras. Quite mad, they say. It is good that Zathras does not mind. He's even grown to like it. Oh yes. -Zathras

Yes.  The other ship has to be slightly below the orion in order for the main turret to be able to target it.

Re: Orion Main Beam Problem
Before I put it on I tested the range of the LRBGreen at 8 km, so the ships are in range.  I alredy know that I have to slightly incline the Orion for it to work, and there are no ships behind it.

In my experience, "slightly" doesn't always do it.

Re: Orion Main Beam Problem
Hm... I'll try inclining it more.
EDIT:  IT appears that was the problem.  Hm... I thought I had it inclined enough, oh well.  Thanks.
