Colossus Repair concept mission
This is my second mission. This is not as complicated as "NTD Victory Escape" but I didn't do it to have as many events as possible.

The point of this mission is to defend the GTVA Colossus while it undergoes repair at a state of the art repair station. It is in a system that has recently been invaded by the NTF, and you are on patrol when two NTF Destroyers warp in to destroy the Colossus while it is vulnerable.

When I created this mission I wanted to make the effect of the Colossus in a shipyard. I did this at first by puting a few Ganymedes around it, but discoveredthat they didn't fit arount the wide hull of the Colossus. :sigh: I fixed that issue by using a custom model called the GTI Polaris created by Dark. It is a model that comes in quarter-circle sections that you put together to make a frame. I made this frame go down the length of the Colossus and it makes a believable shipyard.

Unfortunatly to play this mission, I would recomend not running Mediavps unless you have a higher end system. There is so much stuff in this mission that I was getting choppy framerates. Because of this fact I didn't put in everything that I had orignally intended to, but after playing it, I feel that it is just fine without those bells and whistles.

Two enemy destroyers come in to destroy the Colossus and they do a pretty good job at it. They CAN destroy it in about 4 minutes (Although one game I played it took them nearly 15 minutes to destroy it because they kept missing it! HOW DO YOU MISS A TARGET THAT BIG?! :wtf: ). I include lots of enemy fighters to keep you busy and away from the destroyers to make the mission a little more difficult.

I put in some details in this mission that I forgot to put into my first mission, such as nameplates. Now the two destroyers have their names on their sides to make it easier for you to tell which is which.

Because I use custom models, I have put this mission into a .vp file that includes the mission, models, textures, and tables that you need to play the mission.

I, Aries one, have proved myself superior to the legendary Terran pilot Alpha one! Let the Vasudan people take pride in this accomplishment, and take the Parliamentary Vasudan Empire to victory over the inferior Galactic Terran Alliance! Long live the Emperor!

Yes, the .VPs are just folders inside a container. One of the .VPs contains the ships.TBL.
Gettin' back to dodgin' lasers.

*edit* ...nevermind. all better now.

well, played it. not bad, but it was very short and not all that hard in my opinion. Partly because of where the two destroyers jump in, and partly because of the helios' with alpha wing. It was a pretty straightforward mission and continuity issues aside, there wasnt anything wrong, but maybe halve the number of polaris rings, so then you could add in more. Like a friendly warship or two, or some stationary guns at least, since I cant imagine the colossus would only be covered by two wings.

Yea I agree with Murduk, Serously Why would the Alliance cover a Warship with just a simple Wing? Not to mention the warship took 20 years to make and contains more firepower then a Battle group and holds 60 bomber or fighters?
