Re: What's your favorite SW movies? (pick 3)
4-6, the whole original trilogy. I was disapointed with the prequel trilogy. It had a completely different feel and took away the fun relationships in the characters that the original trilogy had. 4-6 have to be the most epic of the star wars movies, which is why they have the best games after them. Also, the ending of the special edition episode 6 has to be one of the happiest celebrations in film history.
Fun while it lasted.

Then bitter.

My favorite of the bunch has to be ep. 5, closely followed by ep. 4, and finally by ep. 6 somewhat further back. The new trilogy doesn't belong anywhere near the company of those three, although ep. 3 was at least passable.

The problem with 1-3 isn't that they're bad. It's just that they don't live up to 4-6.

If Lucas had never made Star Wars and The Phantom Menace had been the first movie of a trilogy it would be considered a reasonably good sci-fi movie. Nothing incredible, but nothing dreadful. The problem is that we were all expecting something as good as Star Wars and we didn't get it.

6, 5 and 4. In that order. I just love the Deathstar battle in Return. Especially the bit when the Rebs. reaslise it's a trap ("It's a Trap!!") and the fleet splits to either side. Fookin' brilliant stuff.

Or can we add Clone Wars to the options list ?

This is a stupid poll. Why on earth do people say "What is your favorite XXX?... PS: You can only have 3 favorites!"

And since when does "favorite" mean "I don't like this one as much as I like another one"? A favorite is by definition one thing.

4 'n 5 were good. Episode 1 was so... I dunno. Cold. It didn't have any feeling in it. Just an orgasm of digital effects. And 6 wasn't that great either. Sure, there were some good space battle scenes but the general atmosphere was the sort that you might think they were filling in for Barney the dinosaur.

I thought this summed up a lot of people's problems with Episode VI nicely. I think most of you have probably seen it already.

Indeed. I was actually looking forward to a serious final showdown between Solo and Fett. But... no. Let's just throw him to a pit with a tentacle monster. That oughta please the fans.

Re: What's your favorite SW movies? (pick 3)
Bah, if they want to complain about Boba Fett let's get down to the question of why the **** he even raised a finger to recapture Han Solo in the first place. As far as he's concerned he's already gotten his bounty on Solo so why should he give a damn if they eviscerate Jabba or not?

I've never been particularly interested in the typical fanwank over how dangerous Boba Fett actually is and I don't mind them going with the irony of him being killed not by design but by a stroke of luck on Solo's part but if you're trying to claim that he should have been a super-hard badass bounty hunter what you really should be taking issue with is his reduction from hired specialist to Jabba's main thug.

I liked EP1 most out of the "New Trilogy", EP6 out of the "Good Trilogy", and Spaceballs because it's awesome. I picked according to the best of each trilogy.

GTSVA: With who...?
Nuke: chewbacca?
Bob-san: The Rancor.

It should be, it was better than the prequels and episode 6. I know Return of the Jedi was part of the original trilogy, but it just didn't have the feel of the other two. It just seemed so....watered down. Changing Solo's character from a pirate to a clown and including the Ewoks were what ruined it for me.

It still seemed in character to me.

But then again, i first saw the star wars movies when i was a little 6 year old kid. So my view on it will be different from most people and probably won't ever change.

Six was bad, but it was nothing compared to the level ep. 1 sank to..........
