Mabye it has been the constant playing of freespace. Mabye the agrueing on spacebattles.com in the Species 8472 V Shivan thread. Mabye its the 'shivans crash land on earth' thread. Either way, i just had the wierdest Shivan-related dream of all time on this board, and i dare you to top it.

It starts out with a semi fairly sane thing: Mankind and the Shivans are at peace. It gets wierder when you place it in modern times. Its wierder when my friend is there and I'M the one freaking out. It gets wierder when the setting of the dream is in a local walmart superstore. It gets wierder still when its mostly shivans walking around with shopping carts and nobody seems to care. Getting the picture?

A peaceful modern day Shivan-shopping-at-walmart setting with shivans half-chargeing and holding there beams for... something. Light? I don't know. They dont fire them. My friend is not worried and he has NEVER played freespace. Meanwhile every part of my body is just screaming "WHAT! WHY-  WHAT. THE. FRACK.

I dare you to top the going to the store with Shivans dream.

I remember back when I was first playing through FS1, I had a dream about a new fad called "Shivanball", and some girl was telling me repeatedly "you have GOT to try it!". I remember being very dubious about the whole thing.

It involved people going through some sort of bizarre contraption that made them into Shivans temporarily so they could play a game (which IIRC looked very much like soccer). Then some of them didn't want to change back, and started plasma-cannoning anyone who tried to force them back into the transformation machine.

I don't remember any more than that, offhand. Heck, I'm surprised I remember that much from a dream from 9 or 10 years ago.


Shivans shopping at Wal-Mart, though... truly bizarre.

I also wish my dreams would actually have some basis on things I'd dealt with recently.

I'll have the best day of my life or something, and that night, I'll dream about something totally unrelated.

for me, dreams are never like that. Nobody i know or anything like that is ever in them, and they never look like something out of real life... cept for those annoying ones were you're naked? yeah...
and those ones that are even worse, you're lying on the street, and you can only move as fast as like a snail, and cars keep JUST missing you, and you know they're going to hit you eventually... hate those...

I have had FS dreams before, though... frankly, that's how i got the idea for Ragnarok... i think...

Hmm... I remember once when I was about eight I hada freespace related dream. Or rather, nightmare. It involved screaming for help in subspace whilst being pounded to shreds by shivans with Command yelling orders at me. Not fun, although it di nothing to put me off the game...

Strangely enough. After my op. (I never dream under sp? Anaesthetic) i dreamt all the surgery nurses were miss vasuda prime. In full nurse regalia. Now i hope that doesn't paint me wierd, but i hope that rivals yours or at least stimulates similar dreams lol

I had a dream with A a big GTVA fleet and shivan fleet appearing trough a wormhole/something over Earth and fighting it out. Then a damaged Orion makes a emergency landing on Earth, using anti-grav to land somewhat softly into the sea.

Then a fighter comes from it and chrashlands close to me. The pilot is wounded and the ambulance takes him away. Then the shivies fighters swoop down and start shooting and I run for the fighter (which is surprisingly still operational) and i take off and head to space to help fight the shivies. Needless to say, the shivies aren't as wussy as they are in the game.
I can't recall the ending, but I think I died.

Can't say that I have had any FreeSpace related dreams, but what I personally find weirdest is that everyone seems to misspell "weird".

My best series of dreams was basically a playthrough of an RPG that I had never played/seen/heard of.  What's weird about some of mine is that there are sometimes series of dreams, where where one ends, another dream two months later will continue...

The weird thing is I rarely ever watch TV.
