actually, then what you should see are only black shapes

There could be another (much less brighter) light source around. Or another ship behind the camera providing reflected luminance. That would do the job.

I would've made the star more orange; and given the Orion a bit more perspective. But it's pretty nice - it'll serve its task admirably.

The sun isn't bright enough. You can see the centre of it, and being in space you should have been blinded by now
