Just got back from an MOD training ground getting fully hands-on and using some REALLY GUCCI IED ground penetrating radar and other mystical stuff which i'm oath sworn not to discuss.

Not a bad evening.

First night of Nito Ryu (dual wielding a short blade, shoto, and long blade, daito) in Kendo, I'm liking it a lot. As I suspected the style is going to complement someone with reach and strength. That said getting good ten-uchi (in Japanese sword a sort of snapping motion you deliver when striking to maximize the slicing damage of the blade when it enters the target) while wielding the daito single handed in my left is going to require some practice. I already know what I will be drilling in intensely this week.
