The problem, as I see it, is that I made one simple non-hostile comment, and got a rant, imagemacro, and allcaps sarcasmfest in response. And then when I complained about their reaction, I got an apology.

Then Galemp (poster of the aforementioned imagemacro) comes along and edits my post to make it into something stupid, which could never have gotten an apology out of anyone, and also edits mjn.mixael's apology.

It took me a good fraction of an hour to phrase that post so that it would come across as serious, make it clear that I was offended by the aforementioned bull****, and at the same time avoid alienating mjn.mixael too badly.

I think the problem is that you don't understand how ridiculously dumb your comment about the pipes was.

I want you to imagine that you recently completed hand-carving a replica of Michelangelo's David. You wheel it out to your family, and the first thing you hear is 'Hurr hurr. I think you made his dick too small.'

Even if it were constructive or relevant, it would need to come after some acknowledgment of all the things done right to seem like anything but a comical piece of irrelevant nitpicking, a sign of a psyche so invested in minutiae that it had lost all sight of sanity and reason.
