Must admit, one of the weirdest things a girl ever said to me was "I don't date friends", which promoted the comment "So you date strangers and enemies?". Never really got a straight answer to that...

I would have been interested in the response, as the whole "friendzone" thing has never made any sense to me.  If I'd paid it any mind, I'd never have gotten married.  Nevermind to the wife I'm married to right now, I mean ever.  I never let anyone except my friends close enough that there would even be the chance of anything developing.  Why would I ever allow myself to be in that vulnerable a situation someone I didn't already know and trust?

On another note, I thought my cut-throat razor wasn't sharp enough. So I sharpened it on my strop (leather strap) unfortunately it appears i'm too damned good at sharpening.

If you're both mature and intelligent humans, it won't ruin what you had before. It doesn't work out, you go back to how it was before

It only ruins the relationship if you don't understand how to deal with experiments. Treat the entire situation like a lab. Come up with an objective, a prediction, go through the numbers, examine the results, and out with a conclusion. It will only ruin you if you allow it to ruin you

On the contrary. How does a human interaction work? It's a series of predictions, cause and effect moments, and subtle changes that can either work for you, or against you. Saying "**** off" as a greeting is no different than putting Caesium into water. Kaboom.

Working with their likes and desires is similar to only providing the experiment with outcomes you KNOW are good, while testing the grounds with things they may or may not like, is similar to adding a new variable into the experiment

my nukesim console now features full edit keys, and output scrolling. only thing missing now is a command system to parse and execute commands. i also didnt like my font too much so i swapped it for a full 16*16 grid of chars and a different monospace font which should scale better. the characters were kind of narrow before, and so you couldnt scale them down without significant quality loss. so i went with a darker font specifically designed for monospaced console text. and despite the lower character resolution it looks a lot better than it did, and i can actually cram more verbose data into the console. i also figure it would be possible to import the whole system into freespace, if i swap the direct calls to my opengl based font renderer (which are in another lua file anyway) with freespace's gr.drawString() function, if you ever wanted a quake style console in the game. it would come in handy as a way to allow players to configure scripts, in lieu of an actual gui. real men use consoles anyway.
