My mouse's batteries are almost dead. A little light on the top comes on when it's low on power, to make sure it runs out of power faster. Stupid design.

Yes, I am aware that LEDs are very efficient and the light probably doesn't actually shorten the lifetime of the batteries substantially. This was brought up the last time I posted about the stupid batteries running out. I still think it's stupid.

I re-added the code for giant alien brambles in my FPS! I don't remember why I removed it in the first place! Maybe it was because sending all those verts to the GPU makes my computer run slow? And also the fan goes whirrrr. Or maybe it was when I ditched Bullet physics, 'cuz I noticed the physics code was all old and broken... so for now the brambles have no physics, and the game runs slow when I look at them.

Still no progress on C/PHFT.

Fulfilled a bit of a minor ambition that I've had for quite a few years today - spotted a Perentie in the wild! Very cool, though he was only a little guy (just shy of a metre or so long, they get more than twice that big).

Now that was a surprise. I didn't know what one was, and your description suggested to me a snake. Very large lizard instead. Did you manage to get any pictures of it or anything?

even then the cable is the primary source of failure on a mouse with a cable (on a mouse without one, its the left click switch that tends to fail first).

Got up close to him. Actually, nearly skittled him with my ute - I got out to make sure he was OK, and only realized he was a small Perentie and not a Bungarra (which are much more common) once I got up close. They're not really dangerous to approach, as long as you're sensible about it.
