I could be in a similar, but different situation very soon. I really hope not.

Re: Whatever happens in your life
I'm not sure congratulations are in order. Respectfully, sirs, he and his wife-to-be are still teenagers.

Yes. That means that we should abort the baby. After all, he might be the anti-Christ because he was born in sin. I say if Mobius can handle a good marriage, a good fatherhood, and a good education all at once, then good for him. From what I can tell, he's a good guy, so he shouldn't have too much trouble with the first two, and if he manages his time correctly, he'll be fine with the second two.

On the otherhand, I'm not sure if a 29 year old mother to a 10 year old boy would be socially hampering or not.

Regardless of all speculations of the "goodness" of this, I wish you good luck with your fiancee, your child, your education, and your future career, Mobius.

Ditto to all of that.  No matter what circumstances led to it, entering into parenthood is a very wonderful thing. :)

Re: Whatever happens in your life
I received my new Q6600, GA-EP45-UD3R, and 8GB ram in the mail.  After the first 20 minutes of organizing everything, I managed to accidentally bend 8 pins on the socket !  Spent an hour and a half trying to remedy the situation.  Not perfect, but at least it works :).

I am now attempting to find a 'relatively safe' OC.  Currently I have 3.2; I hit 3.4 earlier, but the temperature delta was 19c, a little too low for my tastes :nervous:.

EDIT:  And whatever the situation is, Mobius, I've got only one thing to say about it.
"I just want to tell you both.  Good luck, we're all counting on you."

...or something :p

Congrats, Mobius. Good luck in your new life.

My laptop is back, so I'm celebrating by beating the crap out of everyone else on Kronus. Also downloaded Trashman's Orion MK 2.

You know what? I don't think he really cares.

I mean... if you really want to then go for it but it's a waste of energy just hitting the keys, so why not wish him all the best and be done with it?

Congrats Mobius (do we have a congrats beam?)

I'd like to put out props to the Dell guy who just came - he was awesome. Last guy took an hour and fifteen minutes to replace the keyboard, this guy replaced just about everything (palmrest, touchpad, keyboard (number 3!), motherboard, gpu) in 35minutes, and it all works! (haven't yet had a chance to install FSO on this machine, but it's the next step!)

Time to finish the backups that were in progress when the machine died...

I didn't mean to suggest the event in itself was awful, but I do worry for him and his partner, and what effect this will have on their lives. It's a lot of responsibility to take on so early.

So I wish them all the best, but I also certainly wish it hadn't happened in the first place! It might have given them both more of a chance to learn and grow.

I'm not quite sure how to say that without sounding like a bit of a dick. Mobius = good, teen pregnancy = bad, this event = some of both.

(Also, no problem with being 'born in sin' -- these are social, not moral compunctions.)

No, and it seems that the use of beams on HLP is heavily restricted.
