Finally snagged Mesprit. That's all of the Lake Trio. Now to do some level-grinding...

(I decided to try and get it when my Zubat-Golbat-Crobat reached level 37, sort of like 'oh, what the hell, let's have a go'. It took a while, though, as she kept knocking Crobat, and of course that meant that Mean Look was no longer in effect, which meant she fled the next turn. It took me a few encounters, although I was surprised how easy it was to actually find her when you were in the right place!)

Started another new game in Mount&Blade. I basically started out by running around and getting together Kherit recruits. I had a setback early in the game--I couldn't outrun an opposing army so I nearly got squashed. I ended up being knocked out during the fight with like one or two guys from my little party still alive, so I was able to sacrifice one guy to escape. Then I made the mistake of attacking a caravan too early. I got squashed there too but was able to simply "leave". Right now I'm doing alright--I'm still building my army. So far I have 3 Lancers and 3 Horse Archers. I'd like to advance them more, of course. The Vet. Horse Archers are a really good troop to have. Now then--the Kherit are really good in the field of battle. Every troop they have (with the exception of Tribesman) will always have a horse. That ends up meaning that they're the fastest race, and horse swarms become quite deadly. You can just lead a large force of horsemen through the enemy line and kill a few off the bat, and as your forces splinter off, you can wheel around and go for a second or even third time. By then, it's just give the all-charge order. Anyways--the pitfall of this kingdom's soldiers is it's more difficult to capture or defend your towns & castles. That being said, when I will do my first solo conquest, I'll try to siege a recently-captured castle or town (so they have fewer troops & little food). Then it's the simple matter of filling my inventory with food. What I would like to do is split my forces up evenly--so that half of my army (Which will end up being numbered around 100) will be Lancers and the other half be Vet. Horse Archers. So yeah--I'm just setting up for that right now. Right now I'm also a mercenary for the Khan, so in ~2.7 months game-time, I'll no longer be required to fight for them. Quite a bit of time, but it's time that I only have to worry about getting into fights and advancing my renown rating and leadership skills. I don't have any companions right now, though. I want to get Jeremus at a minimum, and I can toss in a few other followers as well so I can specialize them. Jeremus is a medic--meaning I will just boost his intelligence each level. I want to get Ymira so she can be an engineer and tactician and I want to get Klethi (I think) so she can be my navigator (studying pathfinding, tracking, and whatever else).
