I'm thinking of buying a new laptop. I don't know though; a 15.6" screen seems mighty big. I really want something more like 12.1" or 13.3", max of 14.1". And it's not like the resolution is great either; the 15.6" screen ones I'm looking at ($450 with an Athlon II, 3GB DDR2, 250GB drive, Radeon 4100 IGP, Win7 32-bit) ($650 with a Pentium DC, 4GB DDR3, 250GB drive, Radeon 4570M, Win7 64-bit) are pretty nice. On the other hand, there are a few 11.6" laptops popping up with Core 2 Solo's, 2GB DDR2, 160-250GB drives, and your standard Intel IGP. *Shrug* I'm most disappointed that there are so few laptops with a matte finish. On the other hand, I'd like to buy one with two batteries; a tiny one for when I'm plugged in (so I don't cook the expensive one, and if I lose power for a second or a few minutes I don't get shut down) and a large(r) one for a bit of mobility. On the other hand, my netbook (original EeePC 900) battery runs about 3-4 hours now, far down from the prior 5.5 hours.
