I'm armoring my server room
In order to better support our field service technicians, I will be installing a new VPN gateway in my rack over the weekend. The device will be named 'Knossos'. I've already contracted for new armor for the server room walls.

That is all.

What, you thought I was dead? I'm still around. Rarely, but still around.

Shiva(n) VPN Gateway?

You'd better get some gate Mara to go with that. I've heard the last time one of these was let past to run in a system amok, it got shutdown. You should have seen the faces of the system administrators...

Does it allow you to travel to regions of space previously unexplored?

If not, I don't care for it.

Welcome back
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Hey mik! Long time no see - where you been? :)
Answer, the first:
  We have always been here.

Answer, the second:
Working. Fixing the house. Working. Playing World of Warcraft. Working. Fixing my house.
Working. Avoiding people I owe work to. Working. Fixing the house. Working.

Did I mention Working and Fixing the House? Dude. I'm totally moving into an apartment. Bloody cheaper.

And yes, I'd say a Shivan VPN Gateway does indeed let people with the right access keys to travel regions of space previously inaccessible.

You got into World of Warcraft...

Wow...I'm.......stunned. Really.

Re: I'm armoring my server room
Yeah. Believe it or not, I signed up for WoW for a work. There's a convoluted chain of logic behind it, but what it boils down to is that I use it for keeping in contact with a bunch of WoW obsessed managers I've worked with recently so that when they're looking for someone to do a contract they think of me first. Its worked out okay. Pulled a rather lucrative contract out that way (1/3rd of my annual income in one two-week project).

For the most part, I play it like I play any console RPG.

I'm still evangelising Freespace2 (or rather, the SCP), though. :)
