Could you overlay a semi-transparent grid over/under that? I'm curious as to how it would look.

It actually doesn't look that bad. Good suggestion, IMO.
If you made this in Photoshop or something similar, I'd suggest putting the text above the grid. Also, the spelling of Beta Aquilae is wrong, you've got an extra L in there. Apart from that, bloody good work.

Also, I'll be releasing a second version of this. Here are some of the changes I'll make:
1. Reduction of glare.
2. Improved text spacing and size, as well as a cooler text effect. It was kind of a last-minute get-it-done-and-be-done-and-stop-working-on-this-crazy-project kind of thing.
3. I'll be releasing it alongside an alternate one with straight nodes, just for you picky Terrans out there.
4. The size of the new image will be changed to 1280x800 to fit the desktop wallpaper of widescreen computer screens that are now more common, but you will be able to see everything if you simply center it on the 1024x768 res monitors.
Don't expect this all to be done overnight though, I have a new pile of homework that needs to be taken care of first. I'll see what I can do over the weekend.
