Re: What was this about a homeworld mod?
Mission 7 is the really ugly one.  Drone frigates and defenders around your resourcers and a capship group following the enemy mothership around blowing up pods is the only way to survive with a fleet intact (I ended up losing 2 support friagtes but nothing else).

Mission 8, which every walkthrough says is difficult, was a piece of cake.  Then again. 4 drone frigates and 3 defenders plus an additional 10 multiguns makes short work of swarmers.  And thanks for the MBFs!

You're right, that is an evil mission (7, I mean). I managed to get enough destroyers out in time to make it pretty easy, fortunately. I just killed pods with my frigate groups and then tried to salvage the swarmers, with moderate success.

It was fun having those to use on later missions, even if they tend to run out rather quickly.

I like how the MBFs on Mission 8 just kind of putter around and wait to be salvaged.

I always salvaged the fuel pods and multibeam frigates (BTW- any equivalent of those in the FS universe?).

I then sold the fuel pods to get some strike craft and salvage corvettes.

After all the action ended, I had a fleet of like 9-10 multibeams...

Mission 7 is honestly a joke. So long as you keep your large ships away from the Needleship (otherwise it just chases you and causes you horrible pain) and knock out the fuel pods first chance you get.

Mission 9 is the frustrating one though.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

You're kidding, right?

20 scouts - attack the missile destroyer on evasive.
20 bombers, 30 defenders, 25 heavy corvettes - attack the alien ship.

Over in 5 minutes.  All you lose are a few strike craft (and not many at that).  As soon as the control field goes down you automatically gain control of all the capships it controls.

Though the resource gathering in that mission is a *****.

What question?  That's the only question mark you have in the entire thread.  Your earlier comment didn't seem to be actually looking for a reply...
