Well considering its a AH-1, it came out before the Apache,also the Lynx used to(still does possibly)  serve as the BAF's anti-tank helo, still i'd rather be in a A-10 sometimes, ZSU-23's are nasty or Shilka's if you dont understand Military Jargon. Jets are safer than Helo's but i cant get in the RAF. Also i know the comanche is a scoutish craft, but if the Apache hadnt been developed, it wouldnt have either.

the apache wouldn't have been developed, the US army would have had cheyennes instead :)

too bad the apache usually flies only a dozen of meters above the ground, and would never have time to make autorotation :D
I guess it's strong enouth to resist, but the crew would be severly reeling under the shock :p

yeah, but now there's quite a lot of helicopyters of the same level, but less known for some readon (the Roylvalk (not the right spelling, that's for sure :p), the Havoc, the Werewolf, the Gerfaut ( ground assault variant of the tigre, the one you can see in GoldenEye ). The apache is the most mediatised, but not the only one :p
