The Beam Weapons article in the wiki states that beam weapons were "invented in 2355, after the Hades Rebellion". Is this date a typo? Because the Hades Rebellion took place in 2335, as we all know. But this line would still be wrong, because the Mentu tech entry says that beam technology was developed "following the Great War", which would be after 2335. The Beam Weapons article also says that AAA beams were developed much later than anti cap beams.

According to wiki's timeline (Reconstruction), beam weaponry was introduced somwhere during 2335-39 which complies the Mentu entry.

Is there any detailed canonical information about all that?

Well, 'following the Great War' generally means the entire reconstruction period. We know that the Hades had beams but they weren't deployed on warships even by the time of Operation Templar (2345.)

Beam Weapons were indeed deployed, but just not used. :P Oh, and where is it said that OT took place in 2345?

The briefing says it was the first major operation conducted by the newly-formed GTVA.

I just scanned the mission texts. It is said that it is a joint operation and the GTVA is mentioned as well. But as far as I can see there is nowhere stated that the GTVA is new. So it doesn't neccessarily have to take place in 2345.

GTVA was formed in 2345 per its own tech entry (I think).

Rule #1: Be convincing. You don't have to be right, just sound convincing.

But you are right. I checked and the GTVA was formed in 2345, according to the GTVA tech entry.

I'd like to know why there's a gap of so many years between the GW and OT. OT was intended to eradicate the HoL, not to wipe out "newly born groups of HoL fanatics". What does that mean? The HoL has been ignored/protected for years? Maybe I'm not considering a specific canon source stating something else.

I'm of the opinion that the HoL had to restructure itself following the chaos of the destruction of the Lucifer (and Anvil.) They were never a political group grabbing for power, only a fanatic religious sect. They likely laid low during the reconstruction period without any core leadership, motivation, or resources.

I believe Operation Templar was more of a formal show of force for the fledgling GTVA than a major military campaign, sort of like Italy's invasion of Ethiopia when Mussolini rose to power.
