Here's some shots of a model.  The only difference is the shader used.  The first is Blinn (Probably the most generally used shader), the second is Metal.  Notice how different the end product is.

The Metal shader looks comes out a little too bright, I think. Is it possible to tarnish it a little so it doesn't get approach the whiteout effect so easily?

Gotta love Blinn, eh? It's also a lot more adjustable than Metal, though the last one looks better in certain situations. Good that I told you that thing about shadow map configuration too... You'd still be rendering the first pic if you were using ray-traced shadows... ;)

Oh, probably, I would just have to edit the specular map or decrease the level.  The color contrast on this computer isn't the best.  Personally though, I like the effect.
